Welcome to Chaia’s LearningPlay Music Studio
Chaia is a master teacher with over 30 years experience as a performing vocalist, guitarist, pianist and music performance director. She teaches guitar, piano, voice and group pre-instrumental HUH? classes to children and adults at her comfortable and spacious home studio in Barron Park, Palo Alto. Chaia also teaches at a number of local client’s homes.

guitarProgram Offerings in Guitar, Piano and Voice

LearningPlay teaches students how to both play and love music

  • Lessons designed to create a warm, inviting and fun musical experience
  • A supportive environment that motivates both beginning and accomplished musicians
  • Both private and semi-private instrumental and voice lessons
  • Group classes for pre-schoolers, toddlers and babies
  • Workshops on a regular basis to expose students to a rich spectrum of musical learning including good audience habits, performance experience in small groups, games toincrease their rhythm skills, music listening and appreciation sessions
    ranging from classical to pop which pianostudents evaluate for different musical attributes,
    and lots more… Plus PIZZA following the workshop!
  • A yearly May recital, featuring Chaia’s students in her beautifully landscaped backyard,
  • Music Production and Orchestration classes for students interested in learning to use
    Digital Music Technology Tools and Processes  
  • Audio and Video Recording and post production of student lessons and performances - Recordings are both a cherished memory and a learning tool

Meeting Students Unique Needs
singChaia will choose materiasl and repertoire appropriate and enjoyable for your child or you. Chaia has an extensive selection of resources in many musical genres including sheet music, songbooks and CDs. 

Chaia’s studio is well equipped with instruments including a partial Orff-Schulwerk Instrumentarium system. Her collection of hand and stick drums and many other percussion instruments as well as recorders and guitars plus a variety of colorful world instruments and props offer a myriad of options for young musicians. Electric and acoustic Guitars are available in a variety of sizes.

  • Bilingual Lessons for Spanish speaking students
  • Prayer preparation for special needs children.
  • Unique and Special Learners - Chaia presently delights in teaching a number of children either high-functioning Autism and/or learning differences

Teaching Schedule
Chaia maintains a teaching roster of over 30 students. She teaches in the afternoons, and has some lesson times available on weekends.

Class prices

 

  • $45 for a half hour class at my studio

  • $12 charge for visiting homes

  • $35 semi private for children over 5

  • $20 for group classes

Enrollment Policy

  • Enrollment is in multi-month sessions, with weekly lessons  
    • Fall Session - 3 months
    • Winter-Spring - 5 months
    • Summer enrollment upon request
    • Holidays conform to the Palo Alto School Calendar
      and the major Jewish Holidays.
  • There are no make-up lessons
    unless a slot opens up when someone is sick or traveling.
    If notice is given at the beginning of the Session,
    there is no charge for skipped weekly appointments.
  • Workshops, recitals, and materials and are additional charges
